As Ministry’s website FAQ declares “everything it has created since
its inception has been an evolution of musical insurgence.”
Al Jourgensen, the architect
and provocateur of Ministry, employed a cacophony of sounds from
tape loops and audio sampling to incendiary guitars and distorted
vocals to confront the banal and the apathetic mainstream of
pop/rock.
Jourgensen and company have done just that over the course of twelve
albums and countless worldwide tours, as seminal figures in
Industrial Metal and torchbearers for a genre that has spawned
countless musical progeny since Ministry’s formation in the early
1980s. Ministry's
farewell concert trek, the "C-U-LaTour", concluded in
Dublin, Ireland in July 2008.
Ministry was nominated for a 2008 Grammy Award in the
category of Best Metal Performance.
Ministry have created a special remix of the “NCIS Theme” that is
exclusive to NCIS: The
Official TV Soundtrack.
