Bob Dylan is one
of the world’s most popular and acclaimed songwriters, musicians and
performers, having sold more than 110 million albums and performed
literally thousands of shows around the world in a career that spans
five decades.
Christmas In The
Heart,
released in October 2009, is the 47th album from Bob Dylan and his
first collection of holiday recordings. All artist royalties from
the sale of Christmas In The Heart are being donated to three
charities that combat hunger and homelessness: Feeding America, the
World Food Program and Crisis UK.
In May 2009,
Together Through Life entered the U.S. and UK album charts at
#1, as well as debuting within the Top Five in 15 other countries.
His three previous studio albums, Time Out Of Mind, “Love
& Theft” and Modern Times have also been among his most
commercially successful and critically lauded, each having sold more
than two million copies around the world. The most recent volume in
the acclaimed “Bootleg Series”, Tell Tale Signs, was a top
seller around the world, and made numerous critics “Best Of” lists
for 2008 – virtually unprecedented for a collection of its type.
Bob Dylan was
awarded a special Pulitzer Prize in 2008 for “his profound impact on
popular music and American culture, marked by lyrical compositions
of extraordinary poetic power.” He was inducted into the Rock and
Roll Hall of Fame in 1988 and the Songwriters Hall Of Fame in 1982.
"California" is
Bob Dylan’s contribution to NCIS: The Official TV Soundtrack –
Vol. 2. A track that originally dates from the Bringing It
All Back Home sessions, “California” has been newly mixed and
mastered and is being commercially released for the first time after
being locked in the vaults for more than 40 years. This true gem
from one of music's greatest artists will be featured in the
November 3, 2009 episode of NCIS. |
